Here is a few ideas to make snacks you may already have in you home a little more gruesome this Halloween.
Eyes Cream Balls. Make your ice cream into balls using a small scoop then place back in freezer for 5 minutes. Using coloured icing make the iris and veins on your ice cream balls. Then to finish off add a chocolate chip for the pupil. This is very simple to do and makes for a spooky and exciting desert for Halloween. Add some strawberry sauce to your dish and make it bloody!
Grave stone cake. Write on the top half of a biscuit R.I.P and plunge it into you piece of chocolate cake, so it looks like a gravestone coming out of the mud. (Add green Icing for grass) Any biscuit is good for this but i find the best to be malt biscuits. Get creative and make a series of cupcakes using this technique, they go down great at parties.
Ghost Ice Lollies. Using a pen with edible food ink draw a ghoulish face on a lemonade ice pop. Quite simple but great fun although we don’t really have the weather for Ice lollies in England during October.
Worm cupcakes. Buy some edible jelly worms and use them to decorate some cupcakes, you could
also use jelly spiders and bugs. These are simple and look great included in any party buffet.
Spooky Ice. Add jelly spiders and worms to the water when freezing your ice cubes. Or you could add plastic ones to be more realistic. (just be careful no one chokes!) A great prank.
Rotten apples. Using a knife cut two holes in each of your apples about an inch apart, these holes need to round and about 1cm in diameter and 1cm deep. Cut an edible jelly worm in half and place them in the holes so you have a head sticking out and a tail in the other hole. Your apples will look like they are being eaten by worms. This is great fun, kids love them and best of all its healthy.
