ST3391~Rocky-Horror-Picture-Show-Posters The Rocky Horror Show has been running for many years and is a British stage musical. It first opened in London on 19 June 1973. The television program "The Crystal Maze" was written and starred Richard O’Brien before he went on to write "The Rocky Horror Show". Richard O’Brien is a very creative and ingenious man with an imagination so big that he created two great shows. His charisma and charm are amazing and he is an extremely funny man.

"The Rocky Horror Show" was developed by Richard O’Brien along with Australian theater director Jim Sharman. It then went on to win eighth in a BBC Radio 2 listener poll of the Nation’s Number One Essential Musicals. It is credit to Richard O’Brien that his play went on to be adapted into the 1975 film The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a rock show featuring a live band, spectacular scenery, lighting as well as special effects. The show has been recreated a number of times and every actor or director adds their own special touch. Characters such as Dr FrankNFurter, a transvestite from the planet Transsexual in the galaxy of Transylvania star in this show. Then there is a hunchback henchman named Riff Raff and his incestuous sister Magenta, and assisted by a tap dancing groupie-in-residence, Columbia. It takes the audience on a journey into a world of science fiction and fantasy. Considering the humble beginnings of The Rocky Horror Show as an experimental production in London it has grown in leaps and bounds. It is now a World wide known musical and film probably recognized most for its song The Time Warp. After thirty years the production is still going strong and is extremely popular. tells the story of an American couple named Brad and Janet. They go on a journey where they meet Dr. Frank-N-Furter and his strange cohorts. It was first made into a film in 1975. The musical itself took around six months to write in 1972. It is set in the fictional Town of Denton, Ohio. It premièred at a theatre in Chelsea during June 1973. It was a success from the outset and went on to grow in popularity. The original musical starred Tim Curry as Frank. Due to its popularity it was necessary to hold the production in larger theatres in the London area. It was in 1974 that a U.S movie producer named Lou Adler made a deal with Richard O’Brien and Rocky Horror producer Michael White that gave Adler the permission to bring the stage show to Los Angeles where it would be made into a feature length film produced by Twentieth Century Fox. Due to its success characters from The Rocky Horror Show have become popular Halloween costumes worn every year by those celebrating Halloween.

Richard O’Brien created the original musical that also had the longest film running of all time.

The film which is called, The Rocky Horror Picture Show

When it was shown at midnight in theatres the cult started to grow in popularity. Although it was not the first ever film to be aired at midnight it is probably the film most known to be shown at midnight. The fact that this was shown at midnight helped to set it apart as a cult film in the late twentieth century. The film is a mixture of B movie science fiction, horror and a rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack. The song Time warp is played at weddings and birthday parties to this day. Nobody could predict how successful it would be today, 30 years afterwards. The film has some very catchy songs focussing on off the world rock anthems. The film is as over the top and exaggerated like the musical itself. The musical and film represent the rather eccentric, but creative mind of a genius, Richard O’Brien.
